JULES
HIS STORY
A few days ago, you may have seen on social networks a chimpanzee dressed in a Jean jacket, pants and sneakers, with a glass of Coke in hand (photo left).
This chimpanzee is now with us (photo right), thanks to the collaboration of Eaglenetwork and the Ivory Coast's Ministry of Water and Forests, which seized him and entrusted him to our NGO Akatia.
Jules is a 3-year-old male, underweight for his age - he's the size of a 2-year-old chimpanzee when he should be between 3 and 4.
He won't accept the normal food given to chimpanzees, as he was unfortunately malnourished, mainly on Fanta, Coca Cola and cookies, leading to decayed teeth.
So it's a real challenge for us to get him to put on weight and accept food that will enable him to develop and grow in good condition.

⚠ Chimpanzees are not pets!
These chimpanzees are orphans who have fallen victim to the illegal bushmeat and pet trade. They are being rehabilitated at the Akatia sanctuary.
